Team Manager (Internship)

JOB DISCRIPTION

Midwest Hooligans is a Semi Professional Soccer team that plays in the UPSL in Evansville, Indiana. The team was founded in 2020 and started playing in the UPSL in 2022. In our UPSL division, we play teams such as St. Louis City, Tennessee Tempo FC, and Bowling Green FC along with the chance to qualify to the US Open Cup. Going into our 3rd season, we are looking to expand and grow our operations.

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and responsible Team Manager to join our team and help us achieve success in practices and games. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sports management and support our team's development.

 

As a Team Manager for the Midwest Hooligans, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Logistics Support: Assist in organizing and coordinating practice sessions, games, and team events.

  • Team Communication: Maintain effective communication with coaches, players, and parents to disseminate important information, updates, and schedules.

  • Game Day Preparation: Prepare the team for games by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available. This includes setting up the field, checking the first aid kit, and ensuring water and refreshments are on hand.

  • Record-Keeping: Keep records of game results, player attendance, and any incidents that occur during practices or games.

  • Travel Coordination: Assist with travel arrangements and logistics for away games, including transportation and accommodations.

  • Social Media Support: Contribute to the team's social media presence by capturing photos and videos during games and practices for sharing with the social media team and marketing team.

  • Team Morale: Foster a positive and motivating environment to boost team morale and camaraderie.

  • Support for Coaches: Provide support to the coaching staff by helping with drills, setting up training equipment, and attending coaching meetings.

 

Qualifications - To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Passion for soccer and a strong interest in sports management.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

  • Availability for practices and games, including weekends and evenings.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and support the coaching staff.
